Door problems need context
Tell Trey whether a door rubs, will not latch or has damage around the frame. Include whether the problem is new or changes with the season. The visible symptom alone does not establish whether adjustment, a component repair or replacement is appropriate.
For trim repairs, show the surrounding finish
- Photograph the damaged section and a nearby undamaged section so the profile and finish are visible.
- Say whether you want a local repair or a consistent update across the room.
- Note dampness, softness or recurring gaps rather than treating them as cosmetic by default.
Set expectations for materials and matching
An existing trim profile or stain can be difficult to reproduce exactly. Discuss the material, dimensions and whether matching stock can be sourced before deciding how much needs replacement.
Carpentry service here does not promise structural alterations, engineered repairs or regulated specialist work. Confirm the project scope and any required permissions.
Useful information for your first call
Send the location, a clear description of the problem and photos of the door, trim or woodwork. Include any measurements you already have without dismantling components to obtain them.

Common questions
Can you match my old trim?
Sometimes. Older profiles can be hard to source. Photograph a damaged and an undamaged section so the profile is visible, and discuss whether matching stock is available.
Why does my door only stick in summer?
Wood swells with humidity, which is common in Georgia summers. Seasonal sticking is worth mentioning because it points to a different fix than a door that sticks year-round.
